Online result, DMC and certificate: what is the difference?

Short answer
The online result is a quick, unofficial look at your marks on the board's website. The result card or DMC (Detailed Marks Certificate) is the board's official record of your marks in each subject. The certificate is the formal pass certificate for the whole stage. Duplicates of any of these come only from your board.
The online result
This is what you see on result day on the board's site, gazette or SMS. Boards usually say it is for information only and that errors and omissions are excepted. Save a screenshot, but expect institutions to ask for the board's documents later.
Result card or DMC
The DMC lists each subject with its marks or grade. It is issued by the board, often through your school for regular students. Some boards issue one for each part (Part I and Part II). Colleges usually ask for it at admission.
The certificate (sanad)
The certificate confirms you passed the whole stage, such as SSC or HSSC. It usually comes after the final part, sometimes some time after the result. It is the document most often needed for jobs, IBCC attestation and going abroad.
Lost or damaged: getting a duplicate
Apply to the board that issued the document, through its own website or office. Boards usually ask for a form, a copy of your CNIC or B-Form, your roll number and year, and sometimes a police report or affidavit for a lost document. The list, charges and time taken differ by board, so follow its own instructions.
Verification
Employers and universities sometimes ask the board to verify a document. Boards offer verification through their own offices or online services. For use abroad, you may also need attestation from IBCC; see its attestation page.
Questions
Is the online result enough for admission?
Some institutions accept it for a while. Most will ask for the DMC or certificate later. Ask the institution.
Is a DMC the same as a marks sheet?
Yes. Boards use both names for the subject-wise marks document.
Where do I get my result card?
Regular students usually get it through their school or college. Private candidates get it from the board or by post, as the board says.
How do I get a duplicate certificate?
Apply to the board that issued it, using its own form and instructions. No one else can issue a board document.
My name is spelled wrong on the DMC. What now?
Contact your board for a correction. Boards usually ask for proof such as your B-Form or CNIC and school record.

آن لائن رزلٹ

سند
سند اس بات کی تصدیق ہے کہ آپ نے پورا مرحلہ، جیسے ایس ایس سی یا ایچ ایس ایس سی، پاس کر لیا۔ یہ عموماً آخری حصے کے بعد ملتی ہے، کبھی رزلٹ کے کچھ عرصے بعد۔ ملازمت، آئی بی سی سی کی تصدیق اور بیرونِ ملک جانے کے لیے زیادہ تر یہی دستاویز چاہیے ہوتی ہے۔
گم یا خراب: دوسری کاپی کیسے لیں
جس بورڈ نے دستاویز جاری کی تھی، اسی کو اس کی ویب سائٹ یا دفتر کے ذریعے درخواست دیں۔ بورڈز عموماً فارم، شناختی کارڈ یا ب فارم کی کاپی، رول نمبر اور سال مانگتے ہیں، اور گم شدہ دستاویز کے لیے کبھی پولیس رپورٹ یا حلف نامہ بھی۔ دستاویزات کی فہرست، فیس اور وقت ہر بورڈ میں مختلف ہے، اس لیے اسی کی ہدایات پر عمل کریں۔
تصدیق
ملازمت دینے والے ادارے اور یونیورسٹیاں کبھی بورڈ سے دستاویز کی تصدیق کرواتی ہیں۔ بورڈز یہ سہولت اپنے دفاتر یا آن لائن سروسز کے ذریعے دیتے ہیں۔ بیرونِ ملک استعمال کے لیے آئی بی سی سی سے تصدیق (اٹیسٹیشن) بھی درکار ہو سکتی ہے؛ اس کا اٹیسٹیشن صفحہ دیکھیں۔
